Job Description Summary

The Information Systems/Business Analyst III reports to the Director of Clinical and Administrative Operations. This position serves as a system administrator for the College of Dental Medicine's (CDM) Electronic Health Record (EHR) and various integrated clinical application platforms. Works closely with MUSC IS Cadence/Prelude, Ambulatory, and Resolute teams to troubleshoot issues and implement changes. Oversees and tracks CDM tickets through Service Now. Creates content and provides training for clinical and non-clinical IS systems used by the organization. Maintains a digital repository of all training materials. Manages and coordinates clinic schedules in the EHR system, including schedules and rotations for all clinical providers, instructors, residents, and students. Acts as a liaison between CDM and University Compliance.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain curriculum: Create and update instructor-led, online, and blended training solutions to support CDM's learning strategies. Administer training programs for onboarding and ongoing education, collaborating with subject matter experts and leadership. Innovate in content design and multimedia tools to produce engaging educational content.
  2. Coordinate clinical schedules: Work with department chairpersons to ensure accurate student rotation schedules, utilizing Calendar Lab software, and testing in EPIC systems. Maintain clinic and provider schedules, including resource templates and exceptions.
  3. Manage support tickets: Oversee CDM tickets via Service Now, collaborating with IS teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly. Monitor training and grading software tickets.
  4. Administer grading software: Create and update grade sheets, class rosters, and courses. Support faculty and students with grading issues, including manual entries outside EPIC.
  5. Security management: Set up and maintain user security templates within EPIC, manage user accounts, and deactivate accounts as needed, ensuring proper access levels based on roles.
  6. Ensure compliance: Conduct quarterly audits with the University Compliance officer, reviewing clinical areas for HIPAA compliance and monitoring software access.
  7. Additional duties: Assist with access management for faculty, staff, students, and visitors, including badge access and audit reports. Support other tasks as assigned by the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and two years of experience in system development. Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience in the dental field, familiarity with axiUm EHR, Wisdom module in Epic, and related software. Certification in Epic within six months of hire is required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform job functions involving standing, sitting, walking, working indoors, bending, manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, and occasional lifting, as detailed in the original description.
