Job Description Summary

Serve as Administrative Assistant for Infectious Diseases faculty members, including acting as a point of contact for incoming calls, correspondence, patient scheduling, and data compilation.

Job Duties
  1. Answer telephones, greet visitors, and serve as a source of information for infectious diseases, Ryan White patients, and the ID Bone & Joint clinic. Perform general administrative duties such as copying, faxing, filing, and mail sorting/distribution. Support other personnel as needed.
  2. Coordinate patient care with other divisions, including interfacing with clinical staff to ensure follow-up appointments and obtaining medical records from outside providers.
  3. Review new referrals, schedule appointments, and maintain physician/staff message queues ensuring timely responses.
  4. Support daily administrative activities for faculty, including coordination for 19 faculty, 4 APPs, and 5 fellows.
  5. Upload confidential patient files into the electronic medical record (EPIC) ensuring data accuracy.
  6. Maintain the division's academic calendar and faculty call schedules, including data entry into the Simon Web Communications System.
Minimum Requirements

A high school diploma and two years of relevant work experience, or a bachelor's degree in lieu of experience. Some positions may require a valid driver's license, good driving record, or other certifications as specified.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and working indoors. Infrequent outdoor work in all weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 15 lbs, perform repetitive motions, and maintain good vision and hearing acuity. Specific abilities include reaching, pinching, and fine motor skills.
