Job summary

Pratt Industries in United States (Ohio) is hiring a unitizer operator responsible for running the unitizer and related equipment, including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations. You will ensure proper tagging, proper wrapping, and efficient packing practices on a fast-paced line.

The role requires attention to safety, accurate data entry, readiness to operate a forklift when needed, and adherence to production schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months experience in the Press or Finishing Department.
• Prior work experience as a forklift operator.

Responsibilities

• Operate the unitizer and equipment with accurate banding and wrap.
• Ensure correct unit tags, cover sheets, and stacking patterns.
• Scan barcodes on units moving through the unitizer.
• Maintain neat units with proper number of bands.
• Maximize equipment utilization at available capacity and speed.
• Complete production and quality reports accurately and timely.
• Turn in maintenance orders and propose improvements to equipment upkeep.
• Adhere to production schedules and propose schedule optimizations.
