Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking a Unit Writer to support accurate billing by closely working with Field Supervision. You will interpret and code job documents, compare as-built data, and balance material issued against customer statements.

The role requires reading distribution prints and traveling to job sites as needed, with proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and the company WMS program.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Microsoft Outlook and Excel knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical utility construction prints.
  • Understanding of electrical line construction.
  • Travel to job sites; valid driver’s license.
  • 1-3 years of related experience.

Job description

Position Summary

The Unit Writer works closely with Field Supervision to accurately capture construction activity in order to ensure correct and timely billing. The Unit Writer compares, interprets, corrects, and codes job documents issued by customers and altered by field personnel for billing purposes. The Unit Writer inventories and balances material used against material issued statement provided by the customer.

Essential Functions:
  • Sends and responds to emails, both internally and externally
  • Reads electric distribution construction prints
  • Enters and/or deletes necessary job package data
  • Analyzes as built construction prints, photos and job packages
  • Recognizes and enters data the field crews missed on the as built
  • Able to use customer’s WMS Program for additional data entry and analysis
  • Travels to job sites to obtain any additional information to complete the job package ready for billing
Minimum Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Must possess basic working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical utility construction prints
  • Must possess a working knowledge of electrical line construction
  • Must have a background in electric utility line construction and material
  • 1-3 years of similar or work related experience is required
  • Must be able and willing to travel to job sites (some overnight travel may also be required)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
