Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a Unit Technician for the Main Hospital Building on the 8th floor in a part-time with benefits role. The position blends patient care, phlebotomy, and clerical duties, serving as the primary information resource for the unit.

You will respond to requests from doctors, nurses, patients and families, perform phlebotomy as needed, and support the health unit staff to ensure efficient operation and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed or hold one of the listed education options.
  • Must be a current student or graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy tasks and draw labs for the unit.
  • Coordinate patient care and clerical needs as the unit's primary contact.
  • Provide basic hygiene care, injections, venipunctures, and routine treatments under RN supervision.
  • Maintain unit records, reports, and patient files with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge patients; manage supplies and room readiness.
