We are searching for a Unit Support Assistant -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will perform routine housekeeping duties and respond to emergency calls for cleanup of spills in assigned areas in accordance with standard operating and approved infection control procedures. Responsibilities include daily cleaning of the unit/area, cleaning and maintaining patient equipment, transporting patients safely to and from designated areas, and picking up and delivering unit specimens/items/supplies as needed. The goal is to meet or exceed customer expectations as specified in the Service Quality Agreement (SQA).

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform cleaning duties in assigned areas daily according to standard operating and approved infection control procedures.
  2. Demonstrate ownership for responsibilities in assigned zones and other designated areas.
  3. Ensure accountability for customer service and professional behavior through personal work ethic, teamwork, and effective communication skills.
  4. If assigned, locate, visually inspect, test functionality, and clean patient equipment.
  5. Participate in respiratory fit testing as part of health and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-year experience in environmental services in healthcare, hospitality, or contract cleaning services. Prior hospital experience in Environmental Services and housekeeping is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent may substitute for one year of experience.
