Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a PRN Unit Secretary to support a clinical unit. The role handles all communications, processes physicians' orders, maintains charts, records, supplies and equipment, and serves as the direct link between the patient care unit and support services.

Under indirect supervision, you will assist in orienting and training new personnel, ensuring accurate clerical workflows and smooth unit operations.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 0-6months
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Responsibilities

• Handles all incoming and outgoing communications for the clinical unit.
• Performs clerical duties for the unit, including maintaining charts, records, supplies and equipment.
• Processes physicians' orders accurately.
• Acts as the direct link between the patient care unit and support services.
• Assists in orienting and training new personnel.
