Job description

Job Summary: The primary responsibility is to perform clerical duties on a nursing or clinical unit, adhering to confidentiality standards.

The role involves fostering a cooperative environment by maintaining professionalism, friendliness, and helpfulness towards staff, patients, and families.

All hospital and departmental policies, guiding principles, rules, and regulations must be observed.

Attendance at orientation and ongoing in-service education is required.

Key Duties include:

  1. Assembling new patient charts.
  2. Preparing requisitions.
  3. Reporting needed repairs promptly to relevant services.
  4. Answering phones, relaying messages, and scheduling appointments.
  5. Preparing charts for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  6. Maintaining forms within charts as needed.
  7. Communicating with other departments, such as PAS and Bed Board, in a timely manner.
  8. Ordering and restocking unit supplies.
  9. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment for oneself and the team.
  10. Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.

Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.
