Job description

Job Summary: The primary responsibility is to perform clerical duties on a nursing or clinical unit while maintaining confidentiality. The employee will foster a cooperative environment by being professional, pleasant, and helpful to staff, patients, and families.

They must adhere to all hospital and departmental policies, guiding principles, rules, and regulations. Attendance at orientation and ongoing in-service education is required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Assembling new charts.
  2. Preparing requisitions.
  3. Reporting needed repairs promptly.
  4. Making emergency phone calls as directed.
  5. Answering telephones, relaying messages, and scheduling appointments.
  6. Preparing charts for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  7. Maintaining forms within charts.
  8. Communicating with other departments such as PAS and Bed Board in a timely manner.
  9. Ordering and restocking unit supplies.
  10. Maintaining a clean and organized work area for the team.
  11. Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

Schedule: 40/80 Full-Time Days
