University of Southern California Verdugo Hills Hospital, the community hospital backed by an academic medical center in the Foothills area of Los Angeles, seeks a Unit Secretary for 5 North Med/Surg on a full-time 12-hour day shift. You’ll handle unit reception and coordinate activities for patient care, supporting clinicians on a busy medical-surgical unit.

Minimum education is High School or equivalent; strong English communication, Word/Internet skills, and knowledge of medical terminology

Qualificações

• High School or equivalent education is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word as well as Internet access and utilization.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology and appropriate telephone skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior) requires completion within 30 days of hire if not already valid.

Responsabilidades

• Performs clinical and communication functions on assigned nursing unit.
• Provides courteous reception on the nursing unit and coordinates patient care activities.
