Job summary

Baptist Health in Louisville, KY seeks a Nursing Support Tech to manage patient appointments, verify orders, and assist nursing staff under RN supervision. This role requires strong customer service in a fast-paced setting and adherence to training guidelines.

Responsibilities include patient check-in, collecting registration/insurance data, and requesting prior medical records as needed. Shift: 3 weekday shifts, 3pm–11pm, on-site with supervision by Nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Experience with computers preferred.
• BCLS required within 90 days of hire.

The Nursing Support Tech will schedule/reschedule/cancel patient appointments within the department. They are responsible for verifying that physician orders for upcoming patient appointments have been received and for requesting any needed physician orders. They will perform patient check in and will obtain any required registration and insurance information. They will request prior medical records when needed. This person will be working in a fast paced environment and will be expected to display expert customer service and communication skills to properly assist patients or office staff. The Nursing Support Tech will assist the nursing staff by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties in caring for patients. All functions must be within the scope of training and instructions received and are under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
