Endeavor Health’s Evanston Hospital seeks a Unit Secretary for the Cardiac/Stroke unit. This per diem role supports the nursing team by coordinating non-clinical tasks, processing charges, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

You will answer phones, manage supplies, assist patients and families, and participate in service recovery. Requires high school diploma and 2 years' experience or 1 year college plus experience; proficiency with word processing and computers; rotating day/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience OR 1 year of college plus 1 year of work experience.
• Proficiency with word processing and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate non-clinical duties of the nursing unit.
• Enter patient charges in computer.
• Coordinate patient flow of admissions and discharges.
• Order supplies.
• Customer service to patients, families, nurses, physicians and other support departments.
• Answer phones and relay messages as appropriate.
• Proactively identifies need for service recovery and follow up of resolution.
