Atrium Health in Winston-Salem, NC, seeks a Unit Secretary for the 7 Cancer Center West: BMT unit. The role supports the nursing team with clerical tasks and indirect patient care. Evening shifts are 3p–11p across four 8-hour shifts with weekend rotation.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; a unit secretary course and clerical experience are preferred. Strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Unit secretary course preferred.
• Clerical experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Performs clerical duties for scheduling admissions procedures transfers surgeries and discharges under RN supervision.
• Handles and screens calls; transmits messages as needed.
• Maintains a safe, secure and therapeutic environment per procedures.
• Keeps patient information complete confidential and timely.
• Completes requisitions data entry and nursing communication forms.
• Communicates with team patients and families clearly and professionally.
• Shows initiative for performance and professional growth.
• Maintains organized quiet and efficient work style under stress.
• Supports unit responsibilities and assists others when time permits.
• Provides age/developmental appropriate care per guidelines.
