Corewell Health is seeking a part-time receptionist for the Med Surg Care Unit Bariatric 4H at Blodgett - Grand Rapids. The role supports front desk functions, greets visitors, and handles scheduling and orders on a busy patient care unit.

Shift is Day, 16 hours per week, with hours 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekdays and 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekends. Located at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, this position emphasizes a welcoming environment and confidential record handling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs receptionist/secretarial duties and maintains confidential records, supplies and equipment per hospital and unit standards; greets and directs guests on the unit.
• Schedules tests/procedures, processes orders, and performs related activities within a reasonable time frame.

About The Unit

4H is a 22 bed unit that cares for a variety of medical and surgical patients, specializing in digestive diseases. Our patient population is an even mix of medical and surgical cases, where you will see colorectal and bariatric surgical patients as well as bowel obstruction, kidney failure, cellulitis, and falls. We are an accredited bariatric surgery center that focuses on continuous quality improvement for our patients. We have a dedicated team that is committed to providing a high level of care to help enhance our patients and families’ lives.

Scope of work

Performs receptionist/secretarial duties and maintains confidential records, supplies and equipment per hospital and unit specific standards. Greets and directs guests on the unit in a manner that reflects a welcoming environment. Performs computer entry, schedules tests/procedures, processes orders, and performs other related activities per unit/hospital standard within a reasonable time frame.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Work Equivalent
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
