Aria Nursing & Rehab in Lansing, MI is seeking an RN Unit Manager to lead daily operations of an assigned unit, ensuring safe, high-quality, resident-centered care in alignment with regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in long-term care or post-acute setting
• Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management role preferred
• Working knowledge of nursing practice, infection control, and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants/State Tested Nursing Assistants.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Supervisory responsibilities include: Interviews, recommend hires and trains employees; Plans, assigns, and directs workflow; Prepares work assignment sheets, taking into consideration resident safety, the educational preparation, experience, knowledge and ability of the persons to whom the assignments are made; Receive calls and find replacements for absent staff as needed; Transfers employees within units as needed; Prepares performance evaluations with the understanding that such evaluations impact tenure of probationary employees and wage increases of non-probationary employees; Schedules and adjusts lunch and rest breaks; Receives and resolves employee complaints; Determines rotation of nurses within unit; Monitors and corrects job performance of employees; Disciplining employees up to and including recommendation of discharge; Adequately supervises assigned staff and assures that those staff are supervising employees assigned to them.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
