Job summary

The Laurels of Bedford in Michigan is seeking an RN Unit Manager to lead nursing care for residents in our skilled nursing facility. You will plan, coordinate, and supervise nursing operations and education for staff.

You’ll supervise RNs, LPNs, CNAs, review procedures, and contribute to care plans, with a focus on quality guest care. Leadership and teaching skills are essential to shaping a compassionate, compliant team.

Qualifications

• Must have RN licensure and current CPR certification.
• Experience leading care teams in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred.
• Ability to teach and mentor nursing staff

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care by RNs, LPNs and CNAs and others.
• Reviews and implements nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses systems to deliver quality guest care and staff performance.
• Uses a systematic nursing process for individualized care.
• Contributes to guest assessments (MDS/CAA) and care plan development.
• Evaluates residents’ responses to nursing interventions.
• Understands and administers medications as needed

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and others.
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality guest care and performance of staff.
• Uses a systematic approach in the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.
• Contributes to the guest assessments (MDS/CAA’s) and the development and implementation of a plan of care.
• Evaluates guests’ responses to nursing interventions.
• Understands the rational for the use of medications and treatments and correctly administers as needed.

Qualifications

• Current state RN licensure required
• Current CPR certification and additional certification in a nursing specialty desired
• Management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred
