To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable leader to join our team as a Unit Manager, Team Member Services (TMS) in our Ground Handling Department. The primary responsibility of the position is to plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff in the TMS office in accordance with established policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a busy office environment and proven success as a team leader with the ability to preplan. This position will report to the Department Manager, Team Member Services.Essential Duties:Oversight of the TMS office and station training departmentAdministrative duties to include daily/weekly/monthly reports relating to staffing, workman’s compensation, dependability, airport badge accountability, and mandatory training documentationPrepare and maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, promotionsCompile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activitiesRepresent organization at worker’s compensation hearings and investigationsMaintain all work schedules, vacation schedules, payroll processing, and corrective action for dependabilityKeep company goals and customer expectations in mind when overseeing daily operationsCoach and provide career development to the staffCorrect non-compliant behavior and impose disciplinary action as requiredUnderstand the corporate culture, policies, and goals, and take measures to implement these into daily work routinesJob Qualifications and Competencies:Previous experience in a busy office environmentProven success as a team leader with ability to preplanAbility to work independently, set and meet own deadlinesAble to defuse conflicts among team members and administer corrective action as necessaryExtensive knowledge of Microsoft Office SuitePrior experience with internal controls processes for accountable itemsPreferred Qualifications:Previous management experience in an airport hub environmentBachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related fieldFamiliarity with Roster AppsKnowledge of Worker’s Compensation Guidelines and ProcessesWork Environment:Standard office environment, use of telephones, computers, and other office equipmentSome travel may be requiredAirport ramp environment, subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levelsAll shifts including weekends, nights, holidays and/or irregular shiftsPhysical Requirements:Occasional lifting up to 25 poundsThe above statements provide a brief description of the general nature of work performed and are not intended to be a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required for this position.
