Job description

Carrollton Nursing and Rehab is seeking an experienced LPN or RN Unit Manager to oversee all aspects of operating a unit within a health care facility, from supervising nursing staff to monitoring patient care. Extensive clinical experience in a Long term care facility, prior administrative experience and training in both nursing and administration is a MUST.

Requirements:

  • Active GA LPN or RN license
  • Experience in a Skilled Long Term Care Facility
  • Prior experience in nursing and administration

Duties of Unit Manager:

  1. Oversee unit and assist with treatment and medication administration
  2. Assist with admissions
  3. Participate in family meetings and discharge planning process including but not limited to equipment management and VNA referrals
  4. Notify and update insurance companies on admissions, discharges and changes in condition for managed care residents
  5. Attend and participate in weekly Medicare meetings
  6. Attend and participate in daily meetings
  7. Conduct daily audits of all new admission charts
  8. Serve as liaison between family, patient, doctor and other departments
  9. Investigate all incident reports and follow-up accordingly
  10. Participate in managing staff and assignments to ensure quality of care
  11. Participate and report on patient conditions in weekly risk meetings
  12. Conduct audits as directed by DNS in annual survey prep
  13. Participate in annual evaluations of staff
