Job Description

Are you an RN or LPN with excellent clinical skills and supervisory experience in senior healthcare and rehabilitation? Do you enjoy problem-solving and helping others? As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for nursing care and supervising staff on your unit, overseeing the comprehensive care plan, and ensuring documentation and care comply with policies and regulations.

Qualifications

General:

  1. Licensed and registered as a professional nurse in Indiana.
  2. Successfully complete pre-employment screening.
  3. Pass a physical examination.
  4. Professional appearance and manner.

Functions:

  1. Report to work as scheduled.
  2. Be flexible with hours for special events.
  3. Perform within scope of practice and standards of care.
  4. Follow facility rules, dress code, and hygiene standards.
  5. Follow written and verbal instructions.
  6. Input telephone orders daily.
  7. Maintain harmonious relationships with patients, visitors, and staff.
  8. Keep accurate records and reports on resident care and facility operations.
  9. Supervise supplies and equipment use.
  10. Participate in inservice education and professional meetings.
  11. Address patient concerns and assist with care plans.
  12. Supervise and mentor staff, assist with admissions and evaluations.
  13. Assist with unit cleanliness and safety checks.
  14. Monitor wound care and care plan updates.
  15. Assist with employee evaluations and scheduling.
  16. Serve as on-call supervisor and provide floor coverage as needed.
  17. Conduct rounds, communicate concerns, and document activities.
  18. Meet with families and residents promptly.
  19. Counsel staff when necessary and document follow-up.
  20. Participate in staff meetings and stay updated on procedures.
  21. Complete electronic education modules and assist during meals.

Other:

  1. Demonstrate leadership and supervision skills.
  2. Show caring attitude, good judgment, and emotional stability.
  3. Foster positive working relationships.
  4. Follow written and verbal instructions.
