Job Description

Are you an RN or LPN with excellent clinical skills and supervisory experience in senior healthcare and rehabilitation? Do you enjoy problem solving and building relationships with colleagues and patients? Are you a team builder and mentor? Consider a career as a Unit Manager at Miller's.

As a Unit Manager, you will oversee nursing care and supervise staff on your unit, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. You will develop and oversee care plans and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications
General:
  1. Licensed and registered as a professional nurse in Indiana
  2. Complete pre-employment screening
  3. Pass physical examination
  4. Maintain professional appearance and manner
Functions:
  1. Report to work as scheduled and be flexible with hours
  2. Perform within scope of practice adhering to standards
  3. Follow facility rules, dress code, and hygiene standards
  4. Follow written and verbal instructions
  5. Manage disciplinary procedures and supervise staff
  6. Administer medications and treatments, including inputting telephone orders
  7. Maintain harmonious relationships with patients, staff, and community contacts
  8. Keep accurate records and reports
  9. Supervise supply and equipment use
  10. Participate in in-service education and meetings
  11. Assist with patient admissions and evaluations
  12. Mentor staff and assist with performance evaluations
  13. Ensure unit cleanliness and safety
  14. Monitor wound care and care plan updates
  15. Schedule staff breaks and serve as on-call supervisor
  16. Conduct rounds, document concerns, and communicate with families
  17. Address employee performance issues and participate in staff meetings
  18. Stay updated on nursing procedures and attend mandated trainings
  19. Assist in dining room operations during meals
Other:
  1. Demonstrate leadership and caring attitude
  2. Maintain good judgment and emotional stability
  3. Follow instructions accurately
