Job summary

Complete Care at Margate Park in Chicago, IL seeks a Nurse Unit Manager (RN or LPN) to lead our nursing team, ensure high-quality resident care, and coordinate daily operations across the unit.

Qualifications

About the Role

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will serve as a pivotal leader on our clinical team—ensuring high-quality resident care, guiding shift staff, and driving smooth daily operations across your unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Excellence: Conduct regular nursing rounds throughout each shift to monitor resident care, assess evolving needs, and maintain safety standards.

  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary staff to implement individualized care plans and support smooth discharge planning.

  • Team Leadership: Direct, mentor, and supervise shift nursing staff, providing guidance on medication administration, treatments, and clinical tasks.

  • Staff Development & Culture: Assist with performance evaluations, staff coaching, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive unit culture.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure precise, confidential medical record-keeping compliant with HIPAA and state/federal healthcare regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted Illinois State License as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with no disciplinary actions in effect.

  • Certifications: Current CPR Certification.

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited college or university nursing program.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years of direct care experience in long-term care, restorative, or geriatric nursing.

    • Minimum 1 year of leadership or nursing management experience.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Prior experience in inpatient, palliative, or specialized long-term care settings.

  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and basic computer skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
