Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater in Fairless Hills, PA is seeking an experienced Unit Manager, MRD - Mechanical Reduction to lead the mechanical reduction and processing operations at our precious metals recycling facility. The role focuses on safety, throughput, and continuous improvement while developing the production team in a hands-on environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in mechanical processing or metals recycling, a relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience, and strong leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years in mechanical processing, metals recycling, or similar industrial environment.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in production operations.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, material handling systems, and industrial processes.
• Experience improving operational performance and equipment reliability.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hands-on plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily mechanical reduction, material preparation, and processing operations.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to production teams and supervisors.
• Champion a strong, proactive safety culture.
• Monitor throughput, equipment performance, and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate maintenance activities, repairs, and reliability improvements.
• Identify opportunities to improve production flow and mechanical processing performance.
• Track production results, operational records, and KPIs.
• Partner with Maintenance, Safety, Environmental, and Operations teams to achieve plant goals.
• Evaluate equipment and processes to drive continuous improvement.
• Build accountability and support a reliable, high-performing operation.
