Job summary

Personal Healthcare Management LLC in Massachusetts is seeking a licensed registered nurse or licensed practical nurse to lead the nursing department on a designated shift in a long-term care facility. You will coordinate clinical and administrative activities, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with regulations.

The role requires three years of nursing experience including one year in long-term or sub-acute care, plus current MA RN or LPN licensure, CPR, Accu-Chek and IV Therapy

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited RN or LPN program required.
  • Three years of experience with one year of long term or sub-acute care experience required.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current MA RN or LPN licensure required, ongoing re-licensure compliant.
  • CPR, Accu-Chek and IV Therapy certifications required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the administration and clinical activities for the nursing department on a designated shift or unit.
  • Serves as a resource to staff in clinical and managerial decision making and delegates responsibilities.
  • Participates in inspections by authorized agencies and ensures compliance.
  • Assesses residents and validates nursing staff decisions; participates in care plan development.
  • Conducts rounds to ensure standards and resident needs are met; documents issues and reports to the Director of Nursing.
  • Monitors documentation procedures and supports staff performance; identifies improvement opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as required by the Director of Nurse.

Educational Requirements

Professional Licensure and Certification Required

Current MA RN or LPN. Responsible for annual re-licensure per regulations. Compliance with yearly CEU requirements. Current CPR, Accu-Chek and IV Therapy certification.

Administrative Functions
  • Coordinates the administration and clinical activities for the nursing department on a designated shift or unit in accordance with current regulations that govern long term care facilities.
  • Serves as the resource to staff in clinical and managerial decision making, delegates responsibilities to staff.
  • Participates in inspections (surveys) made by authorized agencies.
  • Participates in and assures appropriate assessment of residents, validates nursing staff’s clinical decisions.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and communication of resident’s plan of care.
  • Making frequent rounds on nursing unit(s) to ensure that all personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with established nursing standards, and that all resident’s needs are being met
  • Monitors documentation procedures of nursing staff. Follows- up on problem areas with employees and makes oral/written reports to the Director of Nursing
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Director of Nurse
Personnel Functions
  • Follows work assignments, and schedules to complete assigned tasks.
  • Performs all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Cooperates with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to assure that services are properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Adheres to the rules of attendance as outlined and received on orientation
  • Recognizes the needs and works to facilitate appropriate assignment of staff within the framework of established staffing patterns.
  • Meets with staff on regularly scheduled basis to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/ or improvement services.
  • Functions in the role of staff nurse or provides direct care to meet the needs of the residents as needed/ required.
  • Ensures that disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, sex, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or marital status.
