City and County of Denver’s Denver Police Department seeks a qualified Forensic Scientist Supervisor to lead the Drug Chemistry and Trace Unit within the Denver Crime Laboratory. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related natural science.
• Five years of full-performance professional criminalist/forensic analysis experience in toxicology, serology, drug chemistry, trace evidence, or another forensic science discipline.
• Experience in ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories and knowledge of quality management systems.

Responsabilités

• Directs and oversees daily unit operations, assigns and distributes work, and ensures timely casework completion.
• Oversees quality assurance, proficiency testing, internal audits, and corrective actions to maintain accreditation.
• Serves as an expert witness in court and maintains relationships with law enforcement and prosecutors.
• Manages employee training, performance evaluations, and development to support continuity and technical proficiency.
