Job summary

Air National Guard Units (ND National Guard) is seeking a Unit Deployment Manager under Title 32 excepted service. The position is part of the NDANG Areas of Considerations with compatibility requirements and a GS-07 level experience expectation.

Applicants should address general and specialized experience showing knowledge of administration and management. This ND National Guard role requires experience with coordinating deployment tasks, reports, and customer support for Unit deployment

Qualifications

  • General experience in organization, management, and administration.
  • One year of specialized experience at GS-07 or civilian equivalent.
  • Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a field related to the position OR two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and management; experience developing procedures.

Job description

THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This ND National Guard position is for a UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER, Position Description Number D2506000 and is part of the ND 119 Operations Group, National Guard.

PCS STATEMENT: PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION COSTS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THIS POSITION.

NDANG Areas of Considerations (T32 Excepted Service)
  • Area I: All onboard NDANG Federal Employees (Tenure 1 & 2)
  • Area II: All onboard NDANG Federal Employee (Tenure 3)
  • Area III: All NDNG military members
  • Area IV: All Military Members
  • Area V: All U.S. Citizens

MAX MILITARY GRADES: E-7

COMPATIBILE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 8U000

AFSC is not a disqualifying factor of eligibility, however, selected applicant must obtain the compatible AFSC.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess the experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration, such as compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. Applicant must also possess one year of specialized experience at the GS 07 grade level or civilian equivalent and/or the education.

Specialized experience is described as:

  • Knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management;
  • Experience developing administrative procedures;
  • Experience providing technical guidance and assistance to customers and management.

OR Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a field related to the position. OR Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
