Hampton Behavioral Health Center in New Jersey is seeking a Unit Coordinator to manage clerical functions on the nursing unit and support patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

This full-time role (32 hours weekly) offers an evening shift from 2:45 pm to 11:15 pm with rotating weekends and requires experience with psychiatric patients, solid documentation skills, and CPR certification.

The Unit Coordinator at Hampton Behavioral will managed the clerical functions of the nursing unit necessary to provide patient care.This is a Full time position, working 32 hours a week. Hours are 2:45 pm – 11:15 pm, 4 Evening Shift a week with rotataing weekends. You will be responsible for the following:

• Must possess experience and knowledge of interventional and administrative duties necessary to support nursing and patient care on assigned unit.
• Assists in the direct care and management of patients with medical and behavioral issues as directed by the treatment team. Assists with unit programming to facilitate the carryover of therapy issues, leisure activities, and activities of daily living for patients on the unit.
• Must possess knowledge of dual diagnosis/chemical dependency/mental health patients; age-specific patient issues, limit setting and behavior management, crisis prevention and intervention Associate techniques.
• Knowledge and comprehension of regulatory agency standards (DOH, DPW, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.
• staff development procedures and requirements
• ability to communicate orally, telephonically, and in writing.
• working knowledge of computer systems and various software; must maintain certification CPR.
• Good documentation, organization and time management skills are necessary. Must be effective in decision-making and problem solving.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and previous secretarial experience preferred.

Must have physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.
