NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a Part-time Unit Clerk for the postpartum unit on a rotating schedule in Brooklyn, NY. You will greet patients and families, coordinate appointments, and maintain smooth flow of patient information at the unit nursing station with courteous, professional service.

The role requires a High School Diploma, at least one year of clerical experience, and basic Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• Minimum of one-year previous clerical experience.
• Knowledge of computer software including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and courteously with staff, patients, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate appointments and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station to assure the timely, efficient and accurate flow of patient information.
• Welcome and direct visitors and hospital colleagues to appropriate areas.
• Answer phones and page nurses on your unit.
• Sign for important medical deliveries and coordinate scheduling as assigned.

Provide compassionate patient focus and superior customer service - keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly. Coordinate appointments and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station to assure the timely, efficient and accurate flow of patient information. Welcome and direct visitors and hospital colleagues to appropriate areas. Page nurses and answer phones on your unit. Sign for important medical deliveries. Cultivate a courteous and respectful demeanor while multitasking between people and responsibilities. This position is a part-time (2 shifts per week) rotating shift position at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Preferred Criteria

• Experience in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge of Cerner and Eagle
