Guthrie is seeking a Unit Clerk to support nurses, physicians, and healthcare teams by ensuring critical information flows smoothly and patients are registered accurately. The role emphasizes clerical duties, patient communication, and collaboration with the care team.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients, registering charts, coordinating supplies, and assisting with orientation of new staff, while maintaining professional and courteous interactions with patients and teammates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current CPR.
• Must be knowledgeable in the use of computers.
• Interview patients to obtain complete registration and billing information.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or their representatives to obtain complete patient registration and required billing information.
• Provide general clerical and reception support and collaborate with the patient care team.
• Register patients, assemble/disassemble charts, and perform clerical duties as directed.
• Maintain transportation logistics for patients and keep relevant logs.
• Communicate professionally with patients and health care team in a courteous manner.
• Access secured storage areas as part of essential job functions.
• Assist in orientation of new employees.
• Follow unit guidelines and participate in downtime processes as needed.
