Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Ward Clerk to support patient care on the unit. You will serve as receptionist, manage charts, and coordinate communications to ensure timely test scheduling and questions are answered.

This position requires high school graduation, knowledge of medical terminology, BLS, and strong computer skills. You will assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and daily unit operations while delivering respectful, patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Medical terminology required.
• Good computer knowledge and comfort with hospital IT systems.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, answer phones, and route messages promptly.
• Assemble patient charts and enter orders into the medical record.
• Notify staff of admissions/transfers/expirations and update logs.
• Prepare discharge and transfer arrangements and manage supplies.
• Maintain unit meetings and participate in CQI activities.
