Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; completion of Unit Clerk course or equivalent training.
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms preferred.
• Successful completion of the Mercy Health System telemetry course.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient rhythms, observe monitor screens, and acknowledge alarms.
• Inform RN of variances in rhythm pattern and report as urgent.
• Provide shift reports and complete required documentation.
• Process orders accurately and timely; triage tele services with supervisor.
• Answer phones/call lights and relay messages to patients and staff.

## Unit Clerk Monitor Technician, Telemetry - Full-time NightsApply: Onsite: Mercyhealth Freeport Hospital - Freeport, IL: Full time: Posted 3 Days Ago: 49903-1**OVERVIEW**As a Unit Clerk Monitor Technician on the Telemetry Unit, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care by continuously monitoring cardiac rhythms, identifying and reporting abnormalities, and ensuring timely communication with the nursing team. You will also manage unit communications, process physician orders, maintain accurate documentation, and help coordinate daily unit operations to promote patient safety and efficient care delivery. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.**Schedule:** 3, 12-hour shifts per week**Shift:** Nights**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances.* Observes screens of cardiac monitors and listens for alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm.* Informs RN caring for the patient in an urgent manner of variances in pattern.
