Job description

This is a full-time, first-shift position available Monday through Friday. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in helping children live healthier, more productive lives. We offer benefits including 401(k), medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as accrued vacation and sick leave.

Responsibilities:
  1. Complete diet sheets, perform and document vital signs, heights, and weights accurately and according to schedule, reporting abnormal readings to the nurse.
  2. Measure patients' head circumference on admission and as needed accurately and promptly.
  3. Maintain daily worksheets, current forms, and proper filing in medical charts accurately and timely.
  4. Locate patients for physician rounds and psychiatric staffings promptly.
  5. Assist nurses during medication administration.
  6. Set up water for medication administration promptly.
  7. Assist in transporting patients to appointments timely.
  8. Transport lab specimens and reports to and from clinics/hospitals as needed.
  9. Transport drug orders to the pharmacy and submit requisitions for nursing supplies as assigned.
  10. Maintain an accurate leave of absence (night out) log.
  11. Document in the medical chart when residents leave or return from passes accurately and promptly.
  12. Ensure confidentiality of residents' identities by verifying caller identification.
  13. Answer phones courteously, transfer calls correctly, and handle buzzer calls after hours, on weekends, and holidays when relieving security/receptionist.
  14. Log and maintain accurate records of all cell phones, counting and signing them out at each shift change.
  15. Provide care and conduct interactions appropriate for the age, culture, and population served.
  16. Follow all safety policies and adhere to worker’s compensation guidelines.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
