Responsibilities
- Complete diet sheets, perform and document vital signs, heights, and weights on patients accurately and according to schedule; report abnormal readings to nurse.
- Measure patients' head circumference on admission and PRN (As Needed) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain daily worksheet, current forms, and proper tab filing in medical charts accurately and in a timely manner.
- Locate patients for physician rounds and psychiatric staffings promptly.
- Assist nurse during medication administration.
- Set up water for medication administration in a timely manner.
- Assist in transporting patients to appointments and lab specimens to and from clinic/hospital promptly.
- Transport drug orders to pharmacy and submit requisitions for nursing supplies as assigned.
- Maintain leave of absence logs (night out) accurately and promptly.
- Document patient passes in the medical chart accurately and timely.
- Ensure confidentiality of resident information by verifying caller identity with patient's ID number.
- Answer telephone courteously and transfer calls correctly and promptly.
- Respond to lobby buzzer after hours, on weekends, and holidays when relieving security/receptionist.
- Log and maintain accurate account of all cell phones, counting and signing for them at each shift change.
- Provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care and interactions.
- Follow all safety policies and adhere to worker's compensation guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Required: High School/GED
Experience
Preferred: One-year experience working with children and adolescents with emotional/behavioral disturbances.
