Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID is seeking a variable shift, part-time Emergency Room Unit Clerk to support the ED team and patient flow.

The role provides administrative and clerical support to the ED Director/Manager, under charge nurse direction, with EMR system responsibilities and day-to-day operations. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, EMT certification, BLS, and proficient computer skills; ability to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum administrative/clerical experience is required.
• Proficient with standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience supporting an ED or fast-paced unit is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work across shifts and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative and/or clerical support to ED Director/Manager.
• Under the general direction of the charge nurse and Medical control.
• Provides EMR support to staff.
• Assist the department in day-to-day operations.
• Assists in smooth patient flow throughout the Emergency Department, while serving as the focal communication source.
• Works on special projects as needed/requested.

• Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital, and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue. Responsibilities

• Provides EMR support to Staff.
• Assist the department in day-to-day operations.
• Assists in smooth patient flow throughout the Emergency Department, while functioning as the focal communication source.
• Works on special projects as needed/requested

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EMT certification.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Electronic medical records software.
• Ability to work varied shifts.
