Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID is seeking a day shift, full-time Cardiology Clinic Patient Care Technician (CNA or EMT). You will work with RNs and LPNs to deliver safe patient care, collect data, document interactions, and help manage procedures and scheduling within the cardiology clinic.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or equivalent, current Idaho CNA or EMT licensure, and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Idaho CNA certification or national/Idaho EMT licensure.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of care in partnership with RN and LPN in a safe patient environment.
• Collect, record, and report objective and subjective data; document interactions timely and accurately.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs.
• Monitor patients and promptly report any concerns to the appropriate party.
• Assist in scheduling surgeries, imaging, lab, and ensure prior authorizations for procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with the RN and LPN to support the delivery of care in a safe patient environment that promotes caring and healing.
• Contributes to the assessment of patient's health status by collecting, recording, and reporting objective and subjective data. Timely, consistently, and accurately documents all patient interactions.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs.
• Monitor patients and report patients' condition and promptly report any signs or symptoms of concern to appropriate party.
• Works effectively with providers and patients to schedule surgeries, imaging, lab, etc. Completes pre-authorization for all procedures or testing to ensure effective reimbursement.
• Answers phones and responds to messages in a timely manner. Communicates and interacts with all customers, (patients, visitors, co-workers, administrative staff, and physicians), in a positive and supportive manner.
• Demonstrates efficiency and dependability with assigned job responsibilities and cross-trains, as appropriate, to assist other staff members in their job duties.
• Ensure accurate documentation of observations and interventions in the medical record.
• Assist in preparing and stripping rooms as needed.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care duties as assigned and may provide clerical support to assigned department.
• Maintain department records and orders/stocks routine supplies for the department.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current Idaho Certified Nursing Assistant certification or National or Idaho EMT licensure.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Strong working knowledge of medical terminology.
• One year of experience in acute or long-term care.
