Job summary

IKEA is seeking a Loss Prevention & Safety/Security team member in St. Louis, MO. You will help protect people and property, perform safety/audit tasks, and maintain alarms and radios to ensure quick response to incidents.

The role requires about 34–40 hours per week with a focus on safety compliance and incident reporting. A background in retail security and license eligibility is preferred.

• Minimum 1 year work experience.
• Retail experience in safety, security, or loss prevention preferred.
• Eligible to obtain security guard license where required by local law.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of people and property per local regulations.
• Complete safety, security, and compliance audits and trainings.
• Maintain critical safety equipment such as alarms, radios, and security systems.
• Report and follow up on incidents.
• Respond to and coordinate emergency situations (burglar alarms, fire alarms, active shooter and other events).

• Candidates in Oregon, New York, and St. Louis, MO, must be eligible to obtain a security guard license as required by applicable local law. Obtaining the security guard license is a required condition of employment for this role.
• Ensures the safety and security of the people and property per local regulations
• Completes safety, security, and compliance audits and trainings
• Maintains critical safety equipment such as alarms, radios, and security systems
• Reports and follows up on incidents that occur
• Responds to and coordinates emergency situations in work areas such as burglar alarms, fire alarms, active shooter and other emergency events
