Job summary

MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital seeks a Nursing Professional Development Specialist - Unit Based to operationalize evidence-based nursing development on the assigned unit, serving as learning facilitator and change agent.

The role partners with the Center for Clinical Education & Professional Practice Development and unit managers to advance onboarding, competency management, continuing education and practice transitions for the nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing required.
• PhD in Nursing, DNP, or ARNP preferred; if not in possession at time of hire, must acquire within two years.
• RN license (WA) or multi-state licensure endorsement required.
• ANCC NPD specialty certification preferred; must acquire within two years if not possessed at hire.
• Minimum four years of acute care nursing practice.
• Minimum three years of program management experience within an education role preferred.
• Minimum three years experience as unit educator, system educator, NPD specialist/generalist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operationalize tools, theories, skills and knowledge of nursing professional development to improve evidence-based practice.
• Act as learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader and advocate for NPD specialty.
• Collaborate with Center for Clinical Education & Professional Practice Development and unit managers to advance onboarding, competency management and continuing education.
