CoxHealth's Cox Medical Center Branson is seeking a Unit Assistant I to gain exposure to multiple healthcare departments while performing assigned tasks under supervision. This entry-level program is designed to help you explore career pathways in healthcare and develop basic clinical and interpersonal skills.

Applicants must be 16 years or older, be able to communicate with staff and patients, and adapt to a fast-paced care environment.

Job Description: A Unit Assistant I completes duties as assigned under the direct supervision of healthcare staff, and communicates effectively with members of the care delivery team. While in the program, a Unit Assistant I will be pre-assigned to explore different healthcare departments, gaining exposure to various career pathways. Upon completion of the program, a Unit Assistant I will complete an interview for selection to potentially advance to a Unit Assistant II role in chosen area of interest.

The Unit Assistant I will be:

• Exposed to the daily routines of healthcare workers.
• Provided opportunities to identify career interests in healthcare.
• Provided exposure to academic, technical, and personal skills required in healthcare professions.
• Complete assigned tasks per department assigned.

Education:

• Required: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a high school or high school equivalent program
• Preferred: Enrolled in a Health Science Program

Experience:

• No prior experience required

Skills:

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Able to communicate and work with a wide variety of staff, patients, and families
• Ability to problem solve
