Altec in Duluth, MN is hiring for a hands-on role installing unit vehicle components and accessories. You will read schematics and work orders, test installed components, use tape measures and specialty equipment, and cross-train across production areas.

You should have a high school diploma or GED, basic reading/writing, and basic computer skills; be able to read tape measures and blueprints. Altec offers comprehensive benefits and a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and APS initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Install unit vehicle components and accessories.
• Read and interpret schematics (blueprints) and work orders to understand customer requirements.
• Test installed components.
• Use basic hand tools such as tape measure and specialty equipment.
• Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell).
• Perform rework as required.
• Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives. May participate in RCI events.
• Move to other work areas in order to support production needs. (Cross-train)
• Effectively assist and train new/current associates.
• Follow established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and practices to include proper use and care of PPE
• Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment.
• Adhere to Altec's attendance policy.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Applicants must:

• be able to provide a high school diploma/GED.
• have the ability to read, write, and comprehend.
• have basic computer usage knowledge.
• currently obtain ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.

Pay Transparency

Pay range: $21.42 to $23.73/hour. We are committed to fair and competitive pay for all associates based on their experience, education, and qualifications.

Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted.
