Job summary

NIFCO in Canal Winchester, OH is seeking an Injection Mold Material Handler to prepare materials for molding, maintain clean work areas, and support dyeing and cleaning tasks. You will follow safety procedures, perform mold-change-related cleaning, and ensure material traceability through logs and tags.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification, basic knowledge of injection molding, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Must complete all safety and environmental trainings required (e.g.: Lock-out-Tag-out, HAZCOM, Blood Borne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment)
• Forklift Operation certified (by NIFCO)
• Basic knowledge of injection molding process and materials
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Must be able to do simple math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for molding, including drying, transfer, preparation, and cleaning
• Follow 5S procedures and keep the work area clean at all times
• Identify and handle non-conforming products per PQS and inform supervisors
• Clean hopper, material holder, grinder, dryer, and blender during mold changes
• Deliver materials to injection molding machines and maintain material traceability with Material Log and Tags
• Ensure IATF16949 manufacturing standards are followed and perform daily scrap collection

Job Summary:

Responsible for preparing all necessary materials to allow successful molding of parts. Includes, but not limited to, material drying, transfer, preparation, and equipment cleaning.

Essential Functions:

• Safety
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and expectations (wear required PPE, follow safety protocols, and report any safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses in a timely manner)
  • Familiar with and can locate Safety Data Sheet
  • Understands OSHA’s “Right to Know” Policy
• 5S
  • Follow 5S procedure and guidance
  • Keep work area clean at all times
  • Assure proper clean point at production start-up
• Product Quality
  • Good understanding of the NIFCO Quality Policy
  • Identification and handling of non-conforming products
  • Skill and knowledge to read the Part Quality Standard – “PQS”
  • Inform Molding Supervisor and/or Process Technicians when nonconformity is found
• Mold Change
  • Cleaning of hopper and material holder
  • Cleaning of grinder
  • Cleaning of material dryer and blender
  • Understand Maguire Blender operation
  • Accurately fill out Mold Change Checklist
• Delivering Material

  • Deliver materials to injection molding machines to assure no material related downtime
  • Maintain material traceability during material transfers by accurately filling out the Material Log sheet
  • Accurately fill out Material Tags
• Other Duties
  • Ensure the IATF16949 (latest revision) standard related to Manufacturing are followed
  • Daily scrap collection and recording
  • Other assigned tasks by Molding Supervisor or Production Manager as needed

Education:
