Job summary

NIFCO America in Canal Winchester, OH, is seeking a team-oriented Materials/Mold Helper to support plastic part molding processes. You will prepare materials, manage dryers and loaders, and assist with mold changes to keep lines running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Must complete safety/environmental trainings (Lock-out-Tag-out, HAZCOM, Blood Borne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment).
• Forklift operation certified.
• Basic knowledge of injection molding process and materials.
• Good verbal and written English.
• Ability to perform simple math.
• Able to lift 55 lbs repeatedly.
• Able to work in a team and independently.
• Willing to work overtime when required.
• Must pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Safety: follow PPE, safety protocols, report incidents.
• 5S: keep area clean and production start-up clean point.
• Product Quality: read Part Quality Standard and flag nonconformities.
• Mold Change: clean hopper, loader, grinder, dryer; fill Mold Change Checklist.
• Delivering Material: prepare materials, mix concentrate, deliver to machines; maintain traceability with logs.
• Other Duties: follow IATF16949 standards; daily scrap recording; assist supervisor as needed.

Job Summary:

Responsible for preparing all necessary materials to allow successful molding of parts.

Includes, but not limited to, material drying, transfer, preparation, and equipment cleaning.

Essential Functions:

• Safety
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and expectations (wear required PPE, follow safety protocols, and report any safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses in a timely manner)
  • Familiar with and can locate Safety Data Sheet
  • Understands OSHA's "Right to Know" Policy
• 5S
  • Follow 5S procedure and guidance
  • Keep work area clean at all times
  • Assure proper clean point at production start-up
• Product Quality
  • Good understanding of the NIFCO Quality Policy
  • Identification and handling of non-conforming products
  • Skill and knowledge to read "Part Quality Standard"
  • Inform Molding Supervisor and/or Process Technicians when nonconformity is found
• Mold Change
  • Cleaning of hopper and material loader
  • Cleaning of grinder
  • Cleaning of material dryer and blender
  • Understand Maguire Blender operation
  • Accurately fill out Mold Change Checklist
• Delivering Material
  • Material preparation
  • Mixing of concentrate
  • Deliver materials to injection molding machines to assure no material related downtime
  • Maintains material traceability during material transfers by accurately filling out the Material Log sheet
  • Accurately fill out Material Tags
• Other Duties
  • Ensure the IATF16949 (latest revision) standard related to Manufacturing are followed
  • Daily scrap collection and recording
  • Other assigned tasks by Molding Supervisor or Production Manager as needed

Education:

• Highschool diploma or GED equivalent

Skills/Experience/Requirements:

• Must complete all safety and environmental trainings required

• Forklift Operation certified (by NIFCO)
• Basic knowledge of injection molding process and materials
