Job summary

CBRE Union Stationary Engineer in Mountain View, CA is a hands-on role focused on maintaining and repairing building systems—mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety and HVAC—to keep facilities safe, efficient and compliant with codes.

You will perform preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and inspections onsite at a large technical company, with a Monday–Friday 5pm–2am schedule, collaborating with teams and applying CBRE’s safety standards.

Qualifications

• EPA Universal certification is required.
• High school diploma or trade school with related experience.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

As a CBRE Union Stationary Engineer

you will be involved in maintaining and repairing building systems—including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and HVAC—while ensuring compliance with safety codes and energy efficiency standards. This role will support preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and inspections, onsite at a large technical company in Mountain View, CA

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 5pm - 2am

What You’ll Do

• Plan, assemble, install, maintain, and repair building systems. Provide system support and knowledge.
• Conduct routine checks on safety devices. Identify and correct issues.
• Track and implement technical innovations and developments.
• Monitor meters, gauges, and computerized controls.
• Obtain manual control of equipment for necessary adjustments.
• Document relevant events and facts concerning the maintenance and operation of the equipment.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
• Work within broad guidelines and policies.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information.

What You’ll Need

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. EPA Universal required.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the Union Stationary Engineer position is $151,694.40 annually [or $72.93 per hour]. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
