Job summary

CalPortland is seeking a Ready-Mix Loader Operator in South San Francisco, CA. This union position with Operating Engineers Local 3 offers a contract benefits package and a hourly wage of $55.15.

The role requires operating loaders and related equipment, performing safety checks, and participating in plant maintenance. Flexible hours with some weekend and night work are expected, and a high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating loaders, man lifts and forklifts.
• Experience operating equipment outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and climb stairs and ladders up to 24 feet high.
• Must have reliable transportation for all work shifts.
• Trustworthy and excellent attendance record.
• Preferred: maintenance-related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe and efficient operation of equipment while completing assigned tasks.
• Perform pre-operational/post-operational checks of equipment to ensure equipment can be operated safely.
• Operate a range of loaders including skip loader, front loader, man lift, and forklift.
• Perform work area examinations to ensure a safe work environment; any observed hazards must be noted, reported to the supervisor and corrected if possible.
• Comply with company policies, procedures and work rules, as well as federal safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Perform plant maintenance activities as directed.
• Work may extend to include general labor duties such as shoveling and sweeping.
• Support other plant activities as directed.
• Some weekend and night work will be required.
