Job summary

CalPortland in South San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Ready-Mix Loader Operator for a union position. The role operates loaders, water trucks, man lifts and forklifts, with safety, checks, and plant maintenance as core duties.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED and has hands-on experience with loaders and related equipment, with willingness to work weekend/night shifts and maintain excellent attendance.

Qualifications

• Experience operating loaders, man lifts and forklifts.
• Ability to operate equipment outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and climb stairs/ladders up to 24 ft.
• Reliable transportation for all shifts and excellent attendance.
• Any maintenance-related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe and efficient operation of equipment while completing assigned tasks.
• Perform pre- and post-operational checks on equipment for safe operation.
• Operate loaders including skip loader, front loader, man lift, and forklift.
• Conduct work area examinations and report hazards to supervision.
• Comply with company policies, safety regulations and environmental rules.
• Perform plant maintenance activities as directed.
• Support other plant activities as needed; may include general labor like shoveling/sweeping.
• Expect some weekend and night work.
