The successful candidate will support Payroll and Finance, with occasional HR administrative duties, ensuring confidential handling of payroll data and meeting strict deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of payroll experience with hands-on union payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of union wage rates, fringe benefits, deductions, and payroll requirements.
• Experience with multiple pay rates, overtime, job codes, and project-based payroll.
• Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and tax requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process union payroll with applicable wage rates, fringe benefits, deductions, and union requirements.
• Review and process timekeeping records for accuracy (hours, PTO, codes, overtime).
• Maintain employee payroll records including wage changes, deductions, and benefits.
• Prepare payroll reports (earnings, deductions, taxable wages, department activity).
• Assist with payroll tax filings, year-end processing, W-2s, and audits.
• Support payroll reconciliations and process improvements.
• Provide occasional administrative support to HR and respond to payroll inquiries.

Position Overview

AB Facility Services is seeking a detail-oriented Union Payroll Specialist to manage and support payroll operations with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience processing union payroll and a strong understanding of union wage rates, benefits, deductions, and payroll requirements. This role will primarily support Payroll and Finance, with occasional administrative support to Human Resources.

What You'll Do

Payroll & Timekeeping

• Review and process approved employee timekeeping records for accuracy, including hours worked, job/project codes, overtime, PTO, and other pay categories.
• Process union payroll, including applicable wage rates, fringe benefits, deductions, and union‑related requirements.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including wage changes, deductions, benefits, tax information, and other updates.
• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare payroll reports, including earnings, deductions, taxable/non‑taxable wages, and department/project activity.
• Assist with payroll tax filings, year‑end processing, W‑2s, and payroll audits.
• Stay current with applicable payroll laws, regulations, and union requirements.
• Maintain confidential payroll and employee information.

Finance & HR Support

• Provide payroll reports and data to the Finance team as needed.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations and audits.
• Support payroll‑related process improvements and documentation.
• Provide occasional administrative support to HR, including employee records and other HR‑related tasks.

What We’re Looking For

• 2–5+ years of payroll experience, with hands‑on union payroll experience required.
• Strong understanding of union wage rates, fringe benefits, deductions, and payroll requirements.
• Experience working with multiple pay rates, overtime, job codes, and/or project‑based payroll.
• Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and tax requirements.
• Strong Excel and payroll/accounting software skills.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict payroll deadlines.

Schedule

• Full‑time, in‑office
• Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM
