Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking a Mobile Engineer (Local 39) to service commercial facilities in and around Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and San Bruno. A company vehicle will be provided for site travel.

The role supports mid-to-swing shifts with options for standard 8-hour or 4x10-hour schedules. The ideal candidate holds a valid state driver’s license, a Plumbing Journeyman’s or state license, and Backflow certification (or plan to obtain within 90 days).

Qualifications

• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Backflow certification required (or ability to obtain within first 90 days).
• High school diploma or state equivalent required.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes.
• Plumbing Journeyman’s and/or State License is required.
• Experience with CMMS and service-related work in commercial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of water and sewerage systems at multiple sites.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plumbing systems.
• Read blueprints and plumbing schematics; interoperate with clients and staff.
• Plan, install, maintain and repair varied plumbing equipment.
• Safely use hand tools and power tools; document work in CMMS.
• Work with minimal supervision and liaise with manager.

About JLL and This Role

Role Overview

We are seeking a Mobile Engineer (Local 39) to join our team at JLL. This role will service commercial facilities in and around Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and San Bruno. A company vehicle will be provided for travel between sites. This role operates on a mid to swing shift time slot, and we are open to either standard 8-hour shifts or 4 10-hour shifts (for example, 9:30 AM to 8:30 PM).

What this job involves –

• Oversees the daily operation of the site’s water and sewerage systems.
• Applicant will be performing both preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on a variety of facility plumbing systems, and of varying conditions.
• Position requires experience in working on these types of systems and with the tools required to perform Union Mobile Engineer - Plumber maintenance.
• The position may be called upon to perform or work alongside other engineers and support duties on an as-needed basis.

What is your day to day?

• Demonstrate knowledge of plumbing building equipment and systems required to operate and maintain plumbing equipment and systems.
• Perform Backflow Certifications.
• Training reimbursement is available.
• Demonstrate the ability to anticipate potential problems and take appropriate actions to maximize the condition of facility structures and assets.
• Plan and layout work details in the assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of plumbing systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and correctly repair all aspects of plumbing systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints and plumbing schematics.
• Interact with clients and maintenance staff to determine the best approach to completion of assignments in a safe, environmentally compliant manner.
• Safely use a large variety of hand and shop power tools.
• Complete all documentation by required deadlines.
• Document accurately and clearly in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) in real time.
• Perform all incidental /associated work required to complete the job assignment.
• Work with minimal supervision and proactively communicate with manager.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, efficient, and clean operating condition.
• Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
• Assist in performing other duties, including work of other trade as required.

Physical Work Conditions

• Able to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
• Able to work on roofs of buildings.
• Subject to call in work 24 hours per day, perform on call duties and overtime as required.
• Lifting to 80 lbs.
• Working from heights.
• Frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead.
• Working in adverse conditions (i.e., extreme cold, extreme hot).
• Driving for long periods of time.
• Climbing a ladder with a 300 lb. weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.

Desired experience and technical skills

• Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
• Plumbing Journeyman’s and/or State License is required.
• Backflow certification is required (or ability to obtain within first 90 days of employment).
• High school diploma or state equivalent required.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes.
• Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
• Good verbal and written communications skills are required.
• Skilled and physically able to operate hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift, and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment, and operate a motor vehicle.
• Preferred Knowledge of overall MEP system design and application.
• Experience managing work orders, utilizing CMMS technology.
• Experience working in a service-related role, specific to commercial facilities.

Expected compensation for this position: 159,120.00 – 159,120.00 USD per year.
