Description

Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Material Packer ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. The Material Packer will act in a manner that is consistent with Gordon Aluminum’s Customer 1st Philosophy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded as necessary by management.

• Prepare “ready to ship” material for shipping, per customer requirements.
• Pack or download material according to instructions.
• Inspect material for quality during packing or downloading.
• Use technology to review job requirements, report production, and produce labels or reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.

All positions are also responsible for:

• Performing tasks in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
• Adhering to company policies, safety procedures, and workplace behavior standards.

Requirements

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience. Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.

Skills

• Mathematical skills: ability to calculate figures, percentages, and apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Language skills: ability to read, interpret documents, write reports, and communicate effectively.
• Reasoning ability: solve practical problems and interpret instructions.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, handling, reaching, talking, and hearing. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, fumes, and airborne particles. Moderate to loud noise levels. Personal protective equipment required.
