Job summary

Action Facilities Management seeks a General Maintenance Worker for the Central Utility Plant. This role provides a pathway to becoming an Operating Engineer once fully trained and qualified, with pay at $30.47 per hour in a union environment.

Responsibilities include maintenance across buildings, systems, and equipment, plus preventative maintenance on CUP controls and HVAC components. Overtime and shift variations may apply to meet project needs, with emphasis on safety and quality work orders.

Qualifications

• Experience performing general maintenance tasks across building systems.
• Ability to read/work orders and maintain logs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance on campus buildings, structures, machinery and equipment across carpentry, plumbing, painting and electrical/mechanical trades.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on CUP systems including VFDs, AHUs, MCCs and PLCs.
• Carry out HVAC tasks such as filter/belt changes, lubrication, temperature/pressure readings and documentation.
• Perform simple electrical testing on HVAC and motor starters.
• Respond to and repair issues from temperature-related calls.
• Maintain records of hours, materials and work orders.
