Job summary

Action Facilities Management, INC (AFM) is hiring a General Maintenance Worker for the Central Utility Plant (CUP). The role is a pathway to becoming an Operating Engineer after training, licensing, and qualification.

You will maintain buildings, systems, and equipment with a focus on CUP functions and preventive maintenance. The position requires knowledge across HVAC, plumbing, electrical trades and general maintenance, plus the ability to work with hand and power tools, document measurements,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in related maintenance work in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Experience in building trades in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, Carpentry, and General Maintenance.
• Must be well versed in working with hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of basic computer software.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance duties to repair campus buildings, equipment and machinery, including carpentry, plumbing, painting and electrical or mechanical trades.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on CUP systems and related equipment (VFDs, AHUs, MCCs, PLCs).
• Perform HVAC duties such as filter/belt changes, lubrication, measurements and readings.
• Execute simple Electrical tasks and testing on HVAC/motor starters.
• Maintain records and documentation of work orders and hours.
• Support project requirements with extended hours, shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed.
