Job summary

Vivmark Residential is seeking a temporary maintenance technician in New York to promptly address resident service requests and perform hands-on maintenance, including plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC as needed. You will prepare market-ready apartments and inspect grounds to identify repairs, with a Tuesday–Saturday 8am–5pm schedule.

Candidates must have a High School diploma, a valid driver’s license, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, appliances, HVAC equipment and perform interior repairs and painting.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of federal and state apartment housing laws.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and driving record if operating a vehicle during workday.
• Computer literacy and effective written and spoken English communication.

What You'll Be Doing

• Scheduled Hours: Tuesday-Saturday: 8am-5pm & 1 Hour Meal Break

This position is a temporary (relief) assignment providing coverage during an employee's leave of absence. The position will remain in place for the duration of the leave period. At the conclusion of the assignment, if a permanent vacancy becomes available, the temporary employee may be considered, based on performance and business need. Shift and hours are not guaranteed.

What You'll Need To Thrive

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, appliances, HVAC equipment (if applicable), and perform interior repairs and painting preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of federal and state apartment housing laws
• A valid driver's license, good driving record, auto insurance, and reliable transportation is required if the team members will operate a motorized vehicle (e.g., car, golf cart) during their workday and/or as part of their role.
• Computer literacy and effective communication skills; Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing in English for all work-related purposes.
• Must be able to work any assigned shift, including weekends. Shifts may change according to business needs. Must be able to respond to emergencies after normal business hours and on weekends when assigned on-call responsibilities. A telephone number where you can be reached after-hours must be provided to your manager.
• Ability to perform numerous physical activities that require considerable use of your hands, arms and legs and moving your whole body, including prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, sweeping, stooping, kneeling, shoveling, crouching, lifting and handling of materials. Frequent lifting, grasping and carrying materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Service team members, with limited exceptions, are required to use their own smartphone to perform certain aspects of their job. The device must have updated software and must be password-protected and compliant with in-house security systems and operations software.

Salary: $33.6508

• Team members are eligible for overtime pay and performance incentives and are subject to Union and Equity Introductory Period (90 days)
• Preference shall be given to those team members already employed in the building, based on the team member's seniority, but training, ability, efficiency, past performance, and professionalism in the residential setting shall also be considered.
