Related Affordable Housing is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician (Local 808 union) to keep our buildings safe, functional, and inviting in New York. You will handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general upkeep while supporting a resident-centered community near Times Square.

The role includes on-call rotations, weekend shifts, training opportunities, and a path to advance within a dynamic housing portfolio. Strong teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in general maintenance or related field.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
• Must be willing to join Local 808 union.
• Must be able to work weekends and participate in on-call rotation.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests promptly and assist residents.
• Prepare vacant units to occupancy standards.
• Inspect mechanical systems and address safety issues.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
• Clean and maintain common areas and grounds.
• Train and mentor junior staff.
• Assist in emergency repairs and rotate on-call.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.
